Getting in shape – it’s never too late!

My older sister came to visit me last year and we got to celebrate her 60th birthday together.  I hadn’t seen her in a couple of years and couldn’t help noticing what great shape she was in; in fact I hadn’t seen her in this shape since we were teenagers!   She told me that after her second occurrence of breast cancer, that she decided it was high time she put a real value on her own well being.  A seed was planted for me, but it took me another year before the seed really took hold in me and sprouted! I have had a life long battle with weight and fitness in general.  Being a “sickly” kid, I was not able to join in a lot of physical activities for long periods of time and it set up a life long pattern of inherent physical laziness.  Over the years I dieted off and on, either through an organized system like LA Weightloss or South Beach Diet or Atkins, etc etc.. I dabbled in various fitness activities, like aerobics, joining the Y, Ladies Workout Express, Curves, etc.  I’m sure you get the picture.  :-|   I’m not saying any of these programs or activities are bad, they just didn’t work out for me long term.  Yes I had success but it was all temporary and I always found myself  eventually getting frustrated and going back to my old familiar eating and (lack of) exercise habits. Last October, I learned about a fitness program that was in development and now that program is about to launch to the public.  I am not at liberty to go into very much detail about it yet, since it’s not quite ready, but I CAN tell you that I’ve been participating as one of the Beta Testers of this program and I CAN share with you my thoughts about it. I have been an active participant of this new program for one month.  In that month I’ve lost 7 pounds and over 10 inches.  The program can be done by anyone at any age in any shape. You don’t need any special equipment and you can do it from the comfort of your home.   The system involves exercise but it doesn’t take a lot of time (less than ten minutes once you know the actual exercises and every other day) -this aspect of the program is what really got my attention.  There is also a great deal of support, training, both on the exercises and nutrition in general, and for the first time in my life, I finally have experienced the “high” that you always hear athletes talk about!  To put things in perspective, I’m in my mid 50′s and my overall weight loss goal is 40 pounds (now 33).   I’ll be keeping a weekly log of my measurement and weight progress here on my blog as well as providing more detailed information on the program when we are closer to public release.  In the meantime, if you’d like to be on my Early Bird notification list, please fill out the form on the right.
