I recorded and uploaded my first video online!
This was a huge day for me! I have been procrastinating and procrastinating like crazy about getting a video of myself online. One of the things that I learned at Marshall Sylver’s Turning Point Seminar is that if you’re afraid of something, you have to face it head on. I don’t know if I’ll be able to muster up that much courage when it comes to stuff like zip lining or bungee jumping, but I finally took the plunge!
The video is real short, and it’s posted at my business blog, Marketers Edge. I was sooo excited after attending the third GVO specialized training class in less than 24 hours, I had to pass on that enthusiasm! I have learned more about marketing online in the last 2 weeks, than I have in the last 5 years!
Today I attended two classes, one on branding yourself and another one was on the 13 steps of creating a sales video. I have to say, I’ve been in many many programs over the years, but never have I received this kind of hands on training ever. A quote that was used last night sums it all up: “Formal education can make you a living, but self education can make you a fortune” ~ Jim Rohn
If you are someone who wants to learn how to earn income from home, I promise you that if you put in the time & effort to get educated and apply what you learn as you go, the tools and training we provide will get you where you want to be.
On a totally different topic, I just looked at the calendar and realized that one month from today, Steve and I will be spending our first night in Grecia Costa Rica! I’m really looking forward to sharing with you, in video and in words, about our experiences while we explore the idea of moving out of the country in greater depth than ever.
Hasta Luego,
Deb
Going through my getting started video series with GVO, my webhost
Howdy!
Today has been pretty cool. Last night I spend some time in my GVO back office learning how to use all the cool tools that come with my web hosting package. I have to tell you guys, GVO has made it so easy to put up a website with their step by step “how to” tutorials, that anyone, and I mean anyone, can do this if they can watch a video, pause it, open another window on their computer and do what the video explains! If I can do it, so can you! In fact after you learn how to register and set up your hosting account, the next thing you learn is how to put up a blog
I left off last night at inserting an image, ready to charge ahead through the remaining steps today. This morning, one of our trainers, Janet Legere, taught a class on how to create a subscriber form to include on your blog and then create a welcome message in our autoresponder. If this all sounds Greek to you, let me back track a bit.
You know when you go to a site and there’s an area that urges you to sign up for updates or enter your info to receive my newsletter? Well, that is an opt in form. What happens is that by entering your information, the person who administers that page also has an autoresponder tied to that form. What is an autoresponder you may ask? Simple, it’s a way for a website owner to keep all his/her subscribers in one database and then be able to communicate with all of them simply by developing their message(s) and with a click of the mouse, it’s sent to everyone on their list! There are several independent autoresponders out there and most of them charge more money the larger your subscriber list becomes. With GVO though, our web host account includes unlimited autoresponders (so you can create as many different subscriber lists as you want) and you don’t get penalized for having a large list
