Who Is Deb?

Hi!  I’m a 57 year young, happily married for 10 years to my best friend Steve Kenig.  We are both now retired from our “leave home, go someplace else to work” jobs.  While Steve enjoys the simple pleasures of retirement, I have found that I need to be a little more productive, and my passion for learning new things, then sharing that info with others  is why I find myself online most of the time.

I have been online since the mid 90′s.  My first home computer had a 16 Meg processor with a turbo button that increased the speed to a whopping 32 Meg!  Now I have a 2+ gig processor with a bunch of RAM and a hard drive “that I swear I’ll never fill up” … lol famous last words!  How far we’ve come in just 15 years, don’t you think?

My job background is quite varied.  I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development from UMass Amherst back in the mid 70s, and was certified to teach K-4 but back in those days, and especially in Massachusetts, teaching jobs were very hard to come by, so I put my name in for temporary assignments, and soon landed one at Raytheon Corp, in their Needham MA facility.  I ended up being hired full time and had various assignments.  I started out doing research for the purchasing department, and eventually became a Logistics Manager and a Technical Administrator for O&M (operation and maintenance) contracts that Raytheon then had with a division of the Air Force, US Space Command, based out of Colorado Springs.   I met so many great people at Raytheon, and was ecstatic to be living in the beautiful mountains of Colorado back in the 80′s and 90′s.

I took a voluntary layoff from Raytheon right after I turned 40.  I went to Real Estate School at the urging of my first husband, who had already had his license.  I got my real estate broker’s license, and together we opened up a small independent real estate company in the mountains west of Colorado Springs.   While I enjoyed real estate, especially meeting new people (many with whom I’m still in touch),  I knew it wasn’t my real passion.  I had told my then husband that I would give him 5 years of my life to real estate, but when I turned 45, it would be time for him to support me in my pursuit of finding my passion.

About the time I was in my mid 40′s, I discovered the internet and shortly thereafter,  I discovered that lots of people were making money from home with their computers.  I had a huge learning curve ahead of me, but I was mentored by a very patient person who encouraged me and soon I was reading about creating web pages, advertising on classified sites and everything in between.  It was all new to me, but very exciting at the same time and along the way, I joined a downline club called SID.  It was at this point, I met my best girlfriend and now business partner, Stephanie Remers.  You can read more about us here.

One thing I can tell you for sure, today’s online marketing skills are a lot different than the ones I originally learned back in the 90′s!  Stephanie and I have recommitted ourselves to learning, applying and sharing what we have and continue to learn about marketing in the 21st century!

On the personal side, things didn’t work out with my first husband, and off I went to Texas to be with Steve (my second husband).  After a year off, I went back to work part time as an office manager for a wonderful woman who worked out of her home.   Now? Steve and I are seriously considering a move out of the US to Costa Rica.  We have done a lot of research online and have visited once.  In May 2010, we spent a month in the outskirts of Grecia.  We made new friends, ate fresh food and did NOT want to come home.  We hope to stay in Atenas on our next long term visit, before making a final decision.  In the meantime, family issues are keeping us Stateside for at least another year, so my focus on Costa Rica has not been as great as in recent months.

Instead, I’ve been focused on my online business, which has really expanded since we got back.  Our online presence is really growing and in addition to affiliate marketing, we are also involved in web hosting, web design, SEO, and web conferencing for small businesses worldwide.  We have several long term projects underway and we are very excited about the coming year!

I read on another site that you used Kors Deep Bleaching method and was wondering if you could send me the before and after pictures…I was thinking of getting the Kors Bleaching on my teeth..the dentist quoted me 1200.00 and I want to make sure it is worth it. I too have tetracycline stains from when I was a child and am self concious. I would love to see your results.
    Thank-you,

Hi Nicole. Let me see if I have the photos on my hard drive.. if not I’ll ask my dentist to send my before pics. I paid about 900 for my Kors treatment, but I also had a ton of other work so perhaps he gave me a discount. My teeth lightened by over 20 shades! Are they white white? No, but after all these years, I now LOVE to smile! I’ll be in touch soon.
